In 1992 we were selected as one of two Wolverhampton
schools to go forward for consideration within the
Technology Schools Initiative. Our
submission was successful, bringing almost £200,000 in
financial support for our development plans in the
Science and Technology area of the curriculum.
In January 1994 we became a Technology
College, the only Church School in the country
to be so at that time. Since then, we have developed
through two other successful phases. Our delivery of the
curriculum in the key areas of Science, Mathematics and
Technology has since been audited as being of high
quality. A ratio of one computer to every four children
and favourable group sizes enable each individual to
study Information Technology on his or her own terminal
with industry-standard software. As a reflection of this
we were successful in securing continued status at Phase
5 from September 2007 and additional funding for four
years.
In addition we school in the innovative national
Leading Edge Programme in 2003. In 2006,
we were invited to become a Specialist Vocational
College (now Applied Learning)
in addition to our Technology Specialism.
