S. Peter’s Musician gains National Solo Award

Talented S. Peter’s student Daniel Rivett is pictured proudly clutching the trophy he was awarded at the 10th Anniversary National Music Festival 2016 in Leicester last weekend.

The Festival is organised by the Boys Brigade and Girls Brigade and Daniel, who represented Lanesfield BB and GB on this occasion was awarded the Brass Cup No.2 for his performance on trumpet of Alan Vizzutti’s ‘Tango ‘, one of the pieces he is preparing with his trumpet teacher Mr Peacock for the forthcoming Grade 6 Trumpet exam.

Daniel’s performance was described as being ‘exceptional, technically and artistically’ and ‘enjoyable, with a great tone’ by adjudicators David Carter and Simon Farrenden and he attracted over 90 marks and an ‘Honours’ certificate for his playing.

Daniel is a committed member of S. Peter’s Collegiate School Concert Band and Lanesfield BB/GB Band, which is made up of 10th Wolverhampton Boys’ Brigade and 1st Lanesfield Girls’ Brigade companies, who were also awarded two trophies for their performances on Saturday.
