Follow us to 1960’s Baltimore, where the 50’s are out—and change is in the air.  Loveable plus-size heroine, Tracy Turnblad, has a passion for dancing, and wins a spot on the local TV dance program, The Corny Collins Show. Overnight she finds herself transformed from outsider to teen celebrity. Can a larger-than-life adolescent manage to vanquish the program’s reigning princess, integrate the television show, and find true love (singing and dancing all the while, of course!) without mussing her hair?

Tickets are on sale to staff and cast members only from Monday 10th March.

Tickets will be on general sale from Wedneday 12th March.

Tickets are £7 (including a soft drink)

Book now to avoid disappointment!

This amateur production is presented by arrangement with JOSEF WEINBERGER LIMITED.

Vinegar Tom Review

Vinegar Tom ticket 27th

With witches and devils, trials and executions, S Peter’s 6th form successfully produced and performed the play; Vinegar Tom. The set of the play was decorated with various sexist posters and biblical quotes to coincide with feminist twist of the play. Written by the British playwright, Caryl Churchill, the play examines gender and power relationships through the lens of the 17th century witchcraft trials in England.

Tickets for the show were sold out on both consecutive nights leaving more than expected audience members thrilled by the ‘outstanding performance with a challenging and mature script’ as described by Mrs Pritchard (Assistant Principal of Communication and Creativity).

Along with the ‘passionate performers’ quoted from Mrs Rollins (Head of 6th form), was the sensual dance performed by 6th form students Bradley Smith and Hannah Mitchell. Students and parents also enjoyed the play saying they felt it was ‘wickedly brilliant … well performed and a brilliant production.’

The director of the production, Anya Tye (6th form student) said, ‘I’m glad I have had the chance to direct and work with swell people. It was a great experience and I’m extremely happy with the final show.’ Vinegar Tom proved a success with positive feedback and enthusiasm shown by both the cast members and audience supporters.
