Towers S.Peter's pupils visit Towers in Year 9

The Towers is a Residential and Educational Outdoor Centre for young people by the City of Wolverhampton.  The course provides pupils with the opportunity to sample a variety of mountain and water activities in Snowdonia and the experience of living and working together with other young people and staff at the Centre.

Many specialised and technical skills are learned on activity days but more importantly the course helps young people to develop a sense of personal and group responsibility.  Walking, climbing and a variety of watersports form the basis of the programme that is adapted on a day to day basis according to the prevailing weather and to the abilities and the needs of individuals and groups.  In the evenings there are further activity sessions led by Towers staff and leaders.

The outdoor activities are organised and led by experienced and qualified instructors who live in North Wales and work at The Towers, supported by the Teachers from S.Peter's, who also provide overnight supervision.  The Instructional staff all hold appropriate National Governing Body awards for the activities undertaken at the Centre and have extensive knowledge of the area.  The Instructors have a duty of care and are responsible for the safety of all visiting groups.

Over the years, it has been noted by many pupils that The Towers has made a significant impression on their lives.  For some pupils it was the most lasting memory of their school years and others have expanded their outlook and personal aspiration from the confidence the outdoor experience has given them.
